How to Install Liii STEM on macOS

Step 1: Determine macOS Version and Architecture

This guide uses macOS 15.3.2 (Apple M1 pro chip) as an example.

The Apple M1 chip is a new chip launched by Apple, belonging to the arm64 architecture. Older Apple computers use Intel chips, which belong to the x86-64 architecture. Software for different architectures is incompatible, so you need to download the corresponding dmg installation package.

Step 2: Download the Installation Package

On the Liii STEM installation page, select the macOS x64 installation package or the macOS Arm installation package. Please confirm your macOS version and architecture first!

Step 3: Install Liii STEM via the dmg Package

To install Liii STEM, double-click the downloaded .dmg file.

After double-clicking, the following interface will appear, close this interface: Open the macOS file browser Finder, and on the left side, you can find the dmg image that was just mounted (dmg format is equivalent to the old CD): Drag Liii STEM to the Applications folder on the left side to complete the installation of Liii STEM.

Step 4: Resolve the Unverified Developer Issue

Becoming a verified developer on macOS requires a fixed fee paid to Apple. Since Liii STEM is free software, we have not paid this fee. Therefore, users need to resolve the following issue: In System Settings -> Privacy & Security, find the following prompt and click [Open Anyway] to open Liii STEM for the first time. When you open Liii STEM again, the security prompt will not appear.

Step 5: Double-click to open the software and start using it!!
